This morning, Maquoketa Community School District High School administrators held a Zoom meeting with the entire student body to review the new Iowa Attendance Legislation and high school handbook cell phone policy. The session aimed to ensure all students are aware of the expectations set forth by these policies, which are being implemented to increase student engagement and achievement.

We believe these policies will create a more focused learning environment for our students. However, their success relies on a team effort between the school, students, and parents.

Parents are encouraged to review these policies at home with their students and help reinforce them in a positive manner. Please see the slideshow that was shared with students today and with parents this week during our high school parent meeting.

Clear communication and consistent messaging from both school and home are crucial for the successful implementation of these policies. This collaborative approach between school and families is essential in creating an optimal learning environment for all students.

We are excited for the new year and thank you for your support!
