Dear Maquoketa Families,

We are thrilled that so many students will be traveling to Des Moines tomorrow to cheer on our Cardinal Girls Basketball Team at the State Tournament! This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to show their school spirit and support our team. The buses will leave Maquoketa HS at 12:15 pm and will return following the game. Please ensure a way for your student to communicate when they return to Maquoketa High School if they need a ride home.

To support a smooth and enjoyable experience, please review the following important details with your student before they board the pep bus:

Tickets

  • Students do not need to purchase a ticket to the game. The district has communicated with Wells Fargo Arena, and tickets will be invoiced directly to the district.

Venue & Bag Policy

  • Wells Fargo Arena has a strict bag policy – only clear bags (12”x12”x6”) or a small clutch purse (4.5”x6.5”) are allowed.

  • Students will not be allowed to return to the bus if they bring an ineligible bag or item, so please ensure they leave unnecessary items at home or on the bus.

Cashless Facility

  • Wells Fargo Arena is cashless. If needed, students can transfer cash onto a gift card at the Overtime Tap stand (Section 108).

Food & Travel

  • The bus will stop for a restroom and food break on the way to Des Moines.

  • Students must bring their own money for food and any purchases.

Bus Assignments & Behavior Expectations

  • Students must ride their assigned bus for attendance and to ensure a safe, organized trip.

  • All Maquoketa CSD handbook and code of conduct rules apply while on the pep bus and at Wells Fargo Arena.

  • Students are expected to behave responsibly and represent our school positively.

  • If a student does not follow expectations, families will be contacted, and the student will not be allowed to ride future pep buses.

We are incredibly grateful to our community sponsors for making these pep buses possible and to our chaperones for supervising and supporting our students. Let’s make this a great experience for everyone and show our Cardinal pride!
