Maquoketa Families,
There will be a 1:30 dismissal today due to the potential of severe weather moving into our area later this afternoon . Thank You for your understanding as we try to keep everyone safe.
One of Mrs.Klemme's kindergartners is reading to the rest of the class!!
Hello Cardinal Elementary Families,
This is a friendly reminder to those of your that pick your students up at the end of the day. We ask that you remain in your cars and pull forward as cars move up in the line. If you would like to get out of your vehicle, we ask that you park at the top of the hill and wait on the sidewalk. The crossing guard will assist your child safely across the drive. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Enjoy the beautiful weather!

‼️PIGS at PRESCHOOL‼️What a fun way to wrap up our Pig's Egg literacy unit. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Mrs. Johnson and her husband, Chris, for making this possible! 😄🐷🤩
Join us for FREE 4-year-old preschool! 😄❤️🤓
Mrs. Johnson's class learned about wind and water erosion. They conducted experiments to prove their hypotheses on how erosion affects structures and the land. We saw first hand how planting grass helps prevent erosion.
Jenna from the Farm Bureau taught 2nd grade students a lesson on chickens and eggs. Students did a break test by holding an egg in their palm and squeezing as hard as they could. They discovered the egg didn't break. They also did a candle light test to a couple eggs to see if they were fertilized and had a chick in them. Jenna explained what to look for during the candle test to see if it was fertilized. After the lesson, the kids were able to peel a hard boiled egg and see the different parts of an egg and eat it! 🥚 🐣🐓

Mr. Gavin and the Maquoketa High School Physics students put on a WONDERFUL event Friday night! 🚗👩🏼🔬❤️👨🏻🔬🤓 It was full of science concepts and demonstrations for children through the use of fun activities and games. Such a fantastic opportunity for older students to interact with younger students and their families in our district (and beyond!). Helping young brains grow! 🧠❣️😀
THANK YOU to all that were able to attend and to all who sponsored or donated to the event. We’re already looking forward to planning future events like this. 😀
