Dear Maquoketa Families,
As we continue to prioritize the education and well-being of our students, I am pleased to inform you about some exciting developments in our communication methods. At Maquoketa CSD, we are dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community, transparency, and collaboration among all stakeholders. To enhance our communication efforts, we are updating our current website, district app, and introducing a new two-way communication tool called "Rooms."
Our primary objective with these updates is to establish a timely, professional, and systematic communication system that enables meaningful two-way interaction between the school, staff, parents, and students. We are committed to celebrating a diverse range of student successes, district achievements, and positive relationships with all members of our community.
Here’s what you can expect from our new communication methods:
1. Website: Our revamped website, www.maquoketaschools.org (this is the same address as our previous site) will provide you with real-time information on school events, important dates, easy access to important documents, and other pertinent district and building updates. You will notice highlights such as “News”, “Live-Feed” and and the week’s calendar of events prominently displayed in the middle of the page. The site continues to be a work in progress as we determine what items need to be carried over from our previous site.
2. District App: The district app will be a tool that allows you to see news, events, the breakfast/lunch menu and much more at a one stop shop location. You will also find access to “Rooms” here which is our new two-way communication platform between families and teachers/coaches. (more information about “Rooms” below).
3. "Rooms”: Is our new two-way communication tool, which will facilitate open dialogue between parents, teachers, coaches and school administrators. You can reach out to us with your questions, concerns, or suggestions, and we will be able to respond promptly, fostering a collaborative relationship between home and school. This will also be where teachers send announcements to the class when needed or specific groups of students. To ensure a smooth transition, specific information about how parents will be invited to "Rooms" will be posted on our social media platforms and sent to your email late on Thursday. We understand that change can sometimes be challenging, but we believe this transition will ultimately benefit our entire school community.
4. Discontinuation of Other Apps: Please note that once the transition has been made to "Rooms," we will no longer be using our other school apps, such as Remind. We appreciate your patience and support as we make this transition.
We are dedicated to making these communication tools as effective and user-friendly as possible. Your feedback is invaluable to us, so feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions as we roll out these updates. Please look for more information on social media and in your email with specific directions on how to access our district app and “Room” by Friday, November 10th.
