Maquoketa CSD Families,
On Friday, September 6, a threatening statement was made on one of our after-school bus routes. All families who have students that ride this bus route have been contacted. The Maquoketa Community School District has been working closely with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Maquoketa Police Department to thoroughly investigate the situation and ensure the safety of all students.
At this time, there is no direct or viable threat to our students. The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority, and we are taking every precaution to maintain a secure environment.
We encourage all students and families to report any threatening statements or concerning behavior to school administration, Jackson County Sheriff's Office or Maquoketa Police Department immediately. By working together, we can help ensure the safety of everyone in our school community.
We will continue to monitor this situation closely and will provide updates if necessary. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Tara Notz
Superintendent
Maquoketa Community School District
