Seniors- Take advantage of these additional scholarship workshop opportunities that your AmeriCorps Student Leaders are offering this week!
MHS Seniors- your pictures are due to Mrs. Edwards by March 1. If they are not in by this time, you will not be included in the yearbook or the slideshow. A traditional head and shoulder shot is needed for the paper (looking straight at the camera with no hat) and one of choice for the yearbook. The yearbook picture will also be used on the slideshow. Photos must come from the source it was taken and cannot be a screenshot of any kind. No watermarked photography will be accepted. Finally, baby pictures are also due for the slideshow at the same time. These can be brought in for scanning if needed. Please send all files as a jpg; do not send photos as a pdf. See Mrs. Edwards in room 110 if you have questions.

On March 6, 2024, MHS and EICC will be hosting a FAFSA Completion Event at the CCC Maquoketa Center. Families can sign up for a 30 minute appointment between 1-5:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to get help from FAFSA experts.
The FAFSA is an important step in the college going process. It can help students gain access to grants and loans to assist in paying for college. In addition, it is required by some institutions for scholarship opportunities. Both students and parents must have their FSA ID created a week prior to the event. If you have not created an FSA ID, please meet with Lorene McLaughlin if you need help with this step. You can reach her at lmclaughlin@maquoketaschools.org.
If March 6th does not work for families, there are several other opportunities available to get FAFSA assistance:
1. ICAN Step-by-Step Virtual Completion Assistance
A Step-by-Step FAFSA Event is a virtual walk through of the FAFSA form in which participants join a Zoom call and fill out the FAFSA while being led through the form by an ICAN professional. Additional FAFSA helpers will be available through the chat feature or breakout rooms to answer questions and provide assistance.
