Maquoketa Families,
Due to continued icy conditions on side roads, parking lots etc and staff who have been injured this morning, we have decided to cancel school for today. It will be a virtual day. Thank you for your understanding.

Don't forget you can still visit the Scholastic Book Store at Cardinal Elementary during conferences on March 12th, from 2pm - 6pm.

Please see the following flyers to learn how you can support the Cardinal Blood Drive!

Parents of students ages infant to 12th grade: Check out this great opportunity from the collaboration of Jackson County Conservation, Jackson County Energy District, and Neighborhood Forest!
Reserve a free tree for your child (infant to 12th grade) online and pick it up at an Earth Day event for the whole family at Prairie Creek Recreation Area in Maquoketa on April 22nd! Hosted by The Jackson County Energy District and Jackson County Conservation. Fill out the online registration form by March 15th to receive a free tree (6- 12 inches in size). The tree species will be announced in early April. Neighborhood Forest aims to provide native and / or fruit bearing trees in all regions they serve. Reserve your tree at: https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/parent-registration/?school=111339.

Hello Cardinal Elementary Families,
We are excited to share with you another CWNK (https://youtu.be/a50w5Urt8d0?si=H6YqGrp7Rnlrsa7p) news report from Liam True and Kahari Campbell!
Don't forget we do not have school on Monday, March 10th!
Highlights Include:
* Parent Teacher Conferences are rescheduled for Wednesday, March 12th, (2pm-6pm)
* 2nd Grade Leaders of the Week
* Our focus habit for March is Habit #6: Synergize (Working Together Makes Things Better)
*Daylight Savings Time on Sunday! Be sure to "spring" forward an hour on your clocks.

ATTENTION! EXCITING AND IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM CARDINAL ELEMENTARY!

Due to unstable weather conditions, including high wind advisories (gusts up to 60 mph) and potential snowfall reducing visibility, Maquoketa CSD will have a virtual learning day today, Wednesday, March 5th. The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority, and we are erring on the side of caution given the unpredictable nature of this storm.
📅 Conferences Update:
* Conferences today (March 5th) are canceled and will be rescheduled for Wednesday, March 12th.
* Conferences on Thursday, March 6th, will continue as planned.
* Additional details and conference sign-up information will be shared soon.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenging weather conditions.
Thank you for your flexibility, and stay safe!
Superintendent Notz
