Chip-Chip Hooray it was a COLORFUL Day as we continue to celebrate our Staff! Mrs. Liz was the winner of a chocolate chip brownie cookie from the Humming Arrow. Thank you, Sadie Gerlach for the donation and supporting our staff!







Congratulations to Miss Amanda, one of our PK-2 paraprofessionals at Cardinal Elementary. Today she won a pair of tickets to the VOY theater. Thank you to the VOY for always supporting the work of our staff at Maquoketa!


Today we celebrated like ROCKSTARS how amazing our Cardinal Staff is! We also enjoyed some yummy desserts in the lounge thanks to our Parent Lighthouse Team! Teacher Barbie (a.k.a Mrs. Liz) even made an appearance.











Congratulations to Ms. Emily Dontje who was the recipient of a gift card to Tada Meats during the Cardinal raffle today! Stay tuned for more winners this week as we raffle out more fun prizes gathered by the Parent Lighthouse Team to support our staff. Today we celebrated how much we "POSITIVELY" love our Cardial staff! Thank you to the Parent Lighthouse Team for providing some energy this morning! Another thank-you to school board member Kacee Nohr for providing the yummy brownies! We are so grateful!

Cardinal students enjoyed some outside time today to work on Habit #7: Sharpen the Saw. Being outside on a beautiful spring day is a great way to nourish your spirit! 🌸







Cardinal awarded the Count on Me award for Habit #7: Sharpen the Saw, to Miss Taylor Back! Taylor is a special education teacher at Cardinal Elementary. She has been a great addition to our Cardial staff this year and is always modeling and encouraging the use of good habits with students and staff. Thank you for being a rock star leader, Miss Back!


Staff Shout Out to Ms. Pam Bowman who was awarded our High Hopes award for Habit #7: Sharpen the Saw. Pam does an amazing job as a paraprofessional at Cardinal Elementary. Her support and encouragement for the academic and behavior success of our Cardinal students does not go unnoticed! Thank you Ms. Pam!

2nd graders participated in the 2024 Jackson County Soil and Water Conservation District poster contest. Kinley D. had an outstanding entry and has won the 🥇1st place local award. Her poster will advance to the Regional Conservation judging.



It was a great morning for a bus evacuation drill!

Maquoketa Track and Band Families,
The Conference Track meet has been moved to Friday, May 3rd starting at 11:00 am at Monticello. This is due to the anticipated weather for Thursday evening. This has been schedule during the day to allow all band students to attend Conference Track and any students who are participating in Large Group Band and Vocal Contests in the evening.

So many exciting things happening in Ms. Denger's first grade class this past week! 😃
