Cardinal Elementary Families,
Check out these fun options for breakfast next week at Cardinal Elementary!
Superintendent Notz visited Mrs. Dostal's 2nd grade classroom today. Thank you for spending time getting to know us, reading to us, and teaching us a fun yoga song! We loved our time together. #onecardinalcommunity
Hello Cardinal Elementary Families,
We hope you all enjoyed the weekend and students are ready for a full week ahead at Cardinal Elementary!
Here are a few reminders and activities for the week ahead at Cardinal:
* We will continue our FAST testing this week. A good breakfast and a full night of sleep is highly recommended.
* The following week (Sept. 16th - Sept. 20th) we will celebrate Maquoketa Homecoming 2024. See the flyer for more information about our fun dress up days.
Have a great week ahead!
Best regards,
Sara Bennis
Cardinal Elementary Principal
It was an exciting battle at Cardinal Elementary as we challenged everyone to support their favorite team for the upcoming Iowa Vs. Iowa State game this Saturday. As you can see by the smiling faces, it was a win-win for all. Everyone enjoyed the friendly banter as we supported Iowa Sports. Regardless of the outcome of the game, we had fun!

Hello Cardinal Families,
We hope that you have enjoyed this beautiful weather throughout the three day weekend and students are excited for another week to learn and connect. We would like to share a few important bits of information as we begin the short week ahead.
* This week we will begin our FASTbridge testing with students to determine their benchmark levels in reading and math for the fall. These are screeners that are used to help us determine the specific needs of all students and plan accordingly. We ask that you help your child prepare for this assessment by ensuring they are well rested and have a good breakfast to start the day!
* This week we will recognize our 2nd grade "Leaders of the Week" during the all school assembly on Wednesday. Be sure to check out the video that will be shared that afternoon.
* Friday, September 6th, we encourage all students to support their favorite Iowa teams as we look forward to the Iowa Vs. Iowa State matchup on Saturday!
* Homecoming 2024 is on Friday, September 20th. The theme is Neon Lights: The Future will be Bright - Let's get a Victory! Stay tuned for fun dress up days that week to cheer on our Cardinals!
